When I Met Elena
When surfer Matthew meets sophisticated Doctor Elena, it's like he's caught the perfect wave. He's not into dating, and she's moving to London so even though Elena is way out of his league, there's no reason they can't have some fun till she leaves, right?
But the first impassioned ride on that amazing wave ends with an abrupt crash when Elena runs off in tears, leaving Matt with unanswered questions and a bruised ego.
What appears to be the end of one passionate night is actually the beginning of two people struggling to find each other in a vast sea of grief, loss, and insecurities.
Will they be able to reach the shore together, or will they drift apart and lose each other forever?

This book follows Matthew and Elena;
two people in different places in their
lives, both going through a transitional
stage in life when their paths cross.
I really enjoyed this book.
There’s some really good spice but
also some very heavy topics. I thought
the author did a great job of telling
their stories and keeping the heavy
topics real but lightening it up with
love and spice.
I really enjoyed this story and was
rooting for Matthew and Elena!

Y'all this book I'm not even sure where to begin with it !!! I loved every single min of it. I loved the writing style and how the author didn't shy away from discussing hard things like alcoholism, PTSD, depression and anxiety and copping mechanisms and how to go about them correctly and I loved how the author used Michaels disability for good and how it made him stronger for it. Something that isn't talked about a lot in books or in life is depression anxiety and disability they all play a huge role in so many lives !!! I loved this book I'm pretty sure I read in a few hours ( sorry family lol) y'all go get this book !!!

This story is one for the books. If you are someone who enjoys a fantastic love story with a great plot and good writing this is a book for you.
Without giving too much away this is the story of Oliver and Erica and the many obstacles thrown in the way. This story will make you feel like your heart is breaking and you don't know if it can be repaired. Oliver and Erica, as written by Desiree Span help you to see that there is an epic love out there.
If a skeptic like me, who devours romance novels, can believe in this once in a lifetime romance then it's a well written story. The best love stories are of those who start as friends and build into something more. The love is palpable on the pages, so this is definitely worth a read and maybe a second read.
